The final Two that Graded in this Round

On Tuesday we had the final two taking their grading test in this round (they didn’t have the possibility to attend last week) The final two was to take their test was Marcus and Martin.
Marcus tested to 5 kyū and Martin to 6 kyū. Congratulations!

We also had time to hand out bukai sodeshō (arm badges indicating the rank for children) to a number of those who graded. Continue reading

More Kenshi that Passed their Grading

This Thursday we had another grading for the junior’s group, this time it was mainly meant to be for grading to 6-4 kyū, but two kenshi that didn’t ha the possibility to attend on Tuesday also. Totally ten kenshi did their grading tests.

For 8 kyū we had Kristian, Emil passed 7 kyū. For 6 kyū we had Tuva-Lill, Stina, Mara, Ida & Amanda. And finally for 4 kyū Hanna, Julia and Filip.

Grading Examination for 7th and 8th kyū

This Tuesday we had a grading examination for 7 kyū and 8 kyū. It was five children that graded and they all did excellent and passed the test.

Instructors Seminar in Stockholm

On Saturday the 7th of March there was an instructors seminar in Stockholm. From Karlstad Shibu Anders and Richard participated, Åke Olsson from Karlstads Studenter Shibu also attended and travelled together with us to Stockholm. Here is the article that was published on the Swedish Shorinji Kempo Federation’s home page.

On the Saturday 7th of March, 13 different kōdansha (higher dan grades) gathered for the spring instructors seminar in dojo of Stockholm Södra. It was a full day training for those who have 3rd dan or higher, and the main focus of the day was to share experience and go over different techniques at yūdansha level (black belt level). Successful Grading

On the 20th of December we had a kyū grading where Jay, Rickard, Sara & Filippa passed their test for nikyū (2 kyū) and Hugo passed his grading to gokyū (5 kyū).

Neo and Olof Graded to Sankyū

On the 18th of December Neo and Olof did their grading. Both of them did very well and passed their test for sankyū (3 kyū) and can now wear a brown belt.

National Taikai and Gasshuku in Gothenburg

Christer och Alva var först ut av paren i kumi embu.On Saturday the 15th of November the Swedish Federation National Embu Taikai was held in Gothenburg, and in connection to this there was also a gasshuku (training camp). There  weren’t quite as many participants as we had hoped for from Karlstad Shibu – Anders-sensei, who was one of the instructors at the training camp and chief judge at the competition, Alva, Christer, Filippa and Jay. Alva and Christer competed in kumi embu (pair embu) and in tandoku embu (single form) Alva, Christer and Filippa competed.
