In Sweden we use branch name, which also is done in Japan and many other countries, however many countries have chosen to have country name on their badges. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The <em>sodesh\u014d<\/em> shall be on left shoulder and the bottom edge of the badge should be in line with the seam on the left sleeve. Also make sure that the badge is centered on the sleeve, so that it isn&#8217;t too far the front or back. A general rule can be that the center of the sleeve badge should be where the sleeve folds when one fold the <em>uwagi<\/em> (suit jacket).<\/p>\n<p>Besides branch name the sleeve badge also indicate position and to some degree rank. The purple line indicates that the branch belongs to WSKO, if there is a red line the branch is a <em>d\u014din<\/em> (only in Japan) and thus belongs to the Kongo Zen Sohonzan Shorinji, the Japanese Federation branches (<em>shibu<\/em>), have a blue line. There is also <em>sodesh\u014d<\/em> with a green line, which indicate Zenrin Gakuen or Busen.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the different levels of <em>sodesh\u014d<\/em> we have:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shorinjikempo.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/sodesho.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-925\" title=\"sodesh\u014d\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shorinjikempo.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/sodesho-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"sodesh\u014d\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shorinjikempo.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/sodesho-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.shorinjikempo.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/sodesho-480x640.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.shorinjikempo.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/sodesho.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Black, regular kenshi.<\/li>\n<li>Red, kenshi that are officers of the branch and have at least <em>sandan<\/em> (3 <em>dan<\/em>)*<\/li>\n<li>Silver, <em>shibu-ch\u014d<\/em> with the degree <em>seikenshi godan<\/em> (5 <em>dan<\/em>) or lower.<\/li>\n<li>Gold, <em>shibu-ch\u014d<\/em>, WSKO instructors &amp; National Federation Officers with the rank of <em>daikenshi godan<\/em> or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* It does not mean that if one have <em>sandan<\/em> that one automatically have the right to have a red sleeve badge.
