On Saturday the 2nd of March the branch’s ordinary practice session was cancelled, instead members had the opportunity to participate in the Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation district “Mellan” (Svenska Budo & kampsportsf\u00f6rbundets distrikt Mellan<\/a>) common “try-out-practice-day” that was held the same day as their annual general meeting.<\/p>\n

The practice was held in Sundsta idrottshus and had Aikido, Aikijo as well as Shorinji Kempo on the program. <\/p>\n

The Aikido session was held by Dirk Handzic from Arvika Aikido Dojo Iwama Ryu<\/a>, then there was a short break for lunch. The afternoon had Aikijo, which is practice with Jo<\/em> stick according to the principles of Aikido. This session was held by Lasse Andersson, from Torsby Aikidoklubb<\/a>, who has been practising Aikido since the middle of the 1960s and is 6 dan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The last session of the day was Shorinji Kempo and it was held by our branch’s shibu-ch\u014d<\/em>, Anders Pettersson (unfortunately no pictures from that part of the day). Everyone was pleased with the practice during the day in addition to training also included a lot of questions about each other’s ways to do different techniques.<\/p>\n

The day ended with the district’s annual general meeting, held at the Hotel Scandic Klar\u00e4lven. At the AGM, our own Pelle Svensson was re-elected a board member and Christer Enfors was also elected to the Board. Anders Pettersson was re-elected as auditor. After the meeting, there was a dinner and a lot of talk about martial arts in general.<\/p>\n
