The branch\u2019s Shibu-ch\u014d<\/em> (chief instructor or branch master as it often is called in English) is Anders Pettersson, who has the rank of Junhanshi<\/em> 7 Dan<\/em> and also the S\u014dkai<\/em> rank Sh\u014dd\u014dshi<\/em> (\u51c6\u7bc4\u58eb\u3000\u4e03\u6bb5\u3000\u5c11\u5c0e\u5e2b). Since April 2019 Anders is WSKO instructor (\u5c11\u6797\u5bfa\u62f3\u6cd5\u4e16\u754c\u9023\u5408\u6307\u5c0e\u54e1), International instructor (kokusai shid\u014din<\/em>\/\u56fd\u969b\u6307\u5c0e\u54e1) and international judge (kokusai shimpan-in<\/em>\/\u56fd\u969b\u5be9\u5224\u54e1).<\/p>\n Anders began practising Shorinji Kempo in January 1984, but wasn\u2019t registered in WSKO until in June 1985 and has kisei<\/em> 435. He has been to Japan and practised so many times that he lost count (more than 12 times). Five\u00a0of those times (-89, -93, -97, 2005 and 2013) has been for International Taikai<\/em> and K\u014dsh\u016bkai<\/em>, other times it has often been other types of Gasshuku<\/em> \/ K\u014dsh\u016bkai<\/em> at Hombu. Most of the trips to Japan have been around 3-5 weeks, and include visits to Hombu but much of the time have also been spent in Kyoto, where we in Sweden has had an long exchange with Rakut\u014d-d\u014din. In 1992 Anders was in Japan for 3 months, he lived in Kyoto and practised mainly in Rakut\u014d-d\u014din, but also a little in Tambabashi-d\u014din. Two weeks were spent at Hombu where he (and two other Swedes: Jonas and Niclas Johansson) trained with the Busen<\/em> students. (Busen<\/em> is an abbreviation of Nippon Shorinji Bu<\/strong>do Sen<\/strong>mon Gakko<\/em> (Senmon<\/em> = special, Gakko<\/em> = school), the school is now called Zenrin Gakuen<\/em>.)<\/p>\n Anders together with Morikawa Zeoh sensei in Rakut\u014d d\u014din 1992<\/p><\/div>\n Since that time in Kyoto, Anders has regarded Morikawa Zeoh sensei<\/em> as his primary teacher and he always stay at Morikawa-sensei<\/em>\u2019s house when he visits Japan.<\/p>\n In addition to Shorinji Kempo being a fun and varied workout one of the things Anders like best about Shorinji Kempo is that he have got so many friends all over the world, including Japan, Australia, England, Canada, and the United States. Some of the better friends outside of Sweden are John McCulloch, Shibu-ch\u014d<\/em> in Toronto<\/a> Canada, but originally from Scotland, Steve Williams, Shibu-ch\u014d<\/em> in Harrow<\/a> England, and Yoshi Karahashi, Shibu-ch\u014d<\/em> in the Peninsula<\/a> in California USA.\u00a0But also many others and of course many of the members of Rakut\u014d-doin in Kyoto.<\/p>\n Anders together with Morikawa Kazuhito sensei (to the left) & Morikawa Hirohito sensei (to the right) during Daruma-sai in Rakut\u014d D\u014din 2019.<\/p><\/div>\n Gradings etc.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anders has also had a lot of assignments for administration work related to Shorinji Kempo and has been the president of the Swedish Shorinji Kempo Federation<\/a> from when it was founded in 1993 until 2019, he was also hy\u014dgi-in<\/em> (Council Member) in WSKO<\/a> during the period of 2002-2006.
